How we do it

Our enterprise development programs are focused on equipping our SMEs with the necessary business operational skills required to professionalize and grow their enterprises.

How we take your business to the next level

Cohort-based Training

Based on the needs of our beneficiaries, we custom tailor  Enterprise Development Programs for the 3 growth stages of the enterprises: Micro EDP for beginners, Stanbic Accelerator Program for small growth companies and Supplier Development for medium and large companies ready to scale up. These are run in cohorts (groups) for 2 weeks and 3 months respectively, followed by 9 months coaching window to give hands-on support.

We use simplified training methods to deliver these skills including Self-learning through our Learning Management System, In-person training, Online Webinars, and Coaching and Mentorship. We also use practical tools, Audio-visual, and games to make learning fun and memorable, thereby offering a well-rounded offering that caters for all learning approaches.

Coaching and mentorship

We offer peer-to-peer coaching to business owners through the networks put together during the course duration. Our coaches, who are part of the training facilitators, provide individual and group coaching to SMEs by visiting their places of business and identifying areas that need support. This gives our trainees the opportunity to put what they learned into practice. Coaching is done virtually or physically depending on the availability of either party and is readily available for 9 months after training.

Customized Incubator Program

Through our partnerships, we provide specialized incubation support to beneficiaries including SMEs, start-ups, and others, that have received funding through grants, credit, and other sources of investment under the NSSF Hi Innovator Program and the Deal Flow Facility with FSDU. This service comes with one-on-one mentorship, advisory and transactional support.

Masterclasses

We believe that there isn’t just one expert for any given topic. Therefore, we organize monthly masterclasses on key topics which are crucial to the learning journey of the SMEs. During these masterclasses, business owners can discuss a variety of topics while also getting expert advice from leaders in various industries that they can use to grow their businesses. We have held masterclasses on topics such as Green Businesses, Design Thinking, Digital Marketing and many others.

Exposure Visits

We offer SMEs the chance to visit the sites of operations of our partners such as the Oil and Gas camps in Kikuube and Buliisa, Ecotourism locations in Bwindi and Karamoja, and Agro-ecology demonstration farms in Masaka and Entebbe, where they can observe and learn from seasoned players within several sectors on the best practices for running a successful business.
