Welcome to the Stanbic Bank Uganda! Open an account online a few simple steps. All you need is your valid identification document, a passport photo or selfie and a photo of your signature and you are set. Be sure to read all the guides below to have a seamless account opening experience.
What you need
Please ensure you have all items saved in PDF or JPG format before you begin to fill in the account opening form
- A valid National ID (front & back)
- A clear photograph
- A photo of your Signature
- A registered mobile phone number
- Initial deposit amount not less than UGX10,000

How to open account

- Click ‘Apply now button’ below
- Scan your national identification and upload it to the system
- Upload a your selfie or clear photograph
- Sign your signature on a plan paper, take a photo and upload it on the system.
- Have at least UGX10,000 on your mobile money to enable you credit your new bank account.
- Read and the Terms and Conditions for account opening and channel enablement will apply ensure to read and understand before you proceed to consent.

Photo requirements
Your photo is a vital part of your application. To learn more, review the information below on how to provide a suitable photo.
Passport photos work best however, one may use their phone, tablet or laptop cameras to take photos for upload.
Your photos or digital images must be:
- In colour
- Taken within the last 6 months to reflect your current appearance
- Taken in front of a plain white or off-white background
- Taken in full-face view directly facing the camera
- With a neutral facial expression and both eyes open
- Do not wear a hat or head covering that obscures the hair or hairline, unless worn daily for a religious purpose. Your full face must be visible, and the head covering must not cast any shadows on your face.
- Headphones, wireless hands-free devices, or similar items are not acceptable in your photo.
- Eyeglasses should be taken off in photos except in rare circumstances when eyeglasses cannot be removed for medical reasons, e.g., the applicant has recently had ocular surgery and the eyeglasses are necessary to protect the applicant's eyes.
- If the eyeglasses are accepted for medical reasons:
- The frames of the eyeglasses must not cover the eye(s).
- There must not be glare on eyeglasses that obscures the eye(s).
- There must not be shadows or refraction from the eyeglasses that obscures the eye(s).
- If you normally wear a hearing device or similar articles, they may be worn in your photo.

Submit a Ministry of Internal Affairs issued Refugee card - International Citizens
Submit a valid passport, resident permit or valid visa - US Citizens
In addition to passport, complete FATCA form, print & sign the upload to system
